Designed, implemented, tested, and built numerous projects using MS SQL Server 2000, MS Visual Basic 6.0, ASP pages, and HTML/Javascript/XML.   Responsible for the design and accomplished projects on time in the following areas:

·           Newsletter Publishing: Created a bulk email application allowing Publishers to mass email their customers through an easy to use interface.  Through the mechanism of well thought out load balancing solutions, over 20,000 emails were sent per day.  Implemented numerous administrative screens that allowed Publishers to create an email newsletter, manage the distribution list, and send the messages to thousands of recipients with minimal effort.

·           Reader Response System: Through “bingo” cards, magazine readers can request information on specific advertisers.  Each advertiser is assigned a code, which can be entered through a given URL.  Responsible for designing, implementing, testing and building the system.  Designed the database schema, wrote the SQL stored procedures, coded the Visual Basic ActiveX DLL functions, wrote the XSL transformations and integrated it all with the HTML/Javascript front-end.  Project was executed in a record time of 2.5 weeks.

·           Ad Server: Implemented a full ad serving solution.  Responsible for the database schema, SQL stored procedures, VB middleware code, and front-end.  Implemented easy to use API for 3rd party applications and administrative screens for the ad management system.

·           Fax Publishing:  Allowed Publishers to easily send faxes to their customers.  Integrated with 3rd party system, CyberData, using SMTP and XML tags to send faxes.

·           MS Exchange 2000: Installed, configured and maintained MS Exchange 2000 to support the internal message store.

·           Organized the Engineering Department:

·           Introduced a source control system (Visual Source Safe), implementing branches as well.

·           Installed and configured the open source Bugzilla on Linux, a full feature bug tracking system.

·           Planned the release of numerous projects taking the team through all phases of the software development cycle: design, development, testing and release.

·           Responsible for numerous client implementations.  Analyzed and understood the client’s data.  Planed the integration of customer’s data with 365 Media’s existing systems.  Using MS MTS transferred the data from numerous sources (MS Access, ASCII, Excel, Quark, etc…) into 365 Media’s MS SQL Server databases.

Designed and implemented ThinkLink’s Unified Messaging systems.   Responsible for the design and accomplished projects on time in the following areas:

·           Invoicing and Billing – Integrated with 3rd party billing system and credit card clearing house to provide monthly invoicing and billing.  Visual Basic applications used TCP/IP, FTP and COM objects to integrate with the credit card clearinghouse.

·           Web applications - using MS IIS 4.0 and ASP pages, implemented a complex unified messaging application including Address Book, Email, Fax, Inbound and Outbound calling, Voicemail, Invoice display, Filters, Folders, Call Forward, Follow Me, Call Screening, Paging, Streaming Audio and Message Alert 

·           Email – Integrated 3rd party email server into ThinkLink’s system.  Implemented incoming and outgoing email functionality, including the retrieval of external POP email through complex Visual Basic applications.  Wrote applications that ran as NT services, using both in-proc and out-of-proc servers (COM – ActiveX DLLs and EXEs).  Integrated services with MS Exchange v5.5.

·           Database – using MS SQL Server 6.5/7.0, improved the existing schema and designed new tables for ThinkLink’s main database.  Applications accessed the database using ADO/RDO through ODBC connections.

·           Administration – Designed and implemented a Web site for Administrators and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) that included:  session management,  personal/billing information, communication settings, customer call tracking, account searches, phone number management, account details including Web and Phone access, quotas, rate plans, credit card transactions, message broadcasting to customers (by email, fax and voicemail), home voicemail and long distance subscriptions.  ASP with ODBC connections were used in the implementation of the Admin Site.

·           Applications were written in Visual Basic and Visual C++  for MS Windows NT 4.0.

·           Integrated 3rd party billing system and acquired multi-platform experience with hands-on development accomplished in C/C++ under Unix while using Apache and Oracle (under Solaris 2.6).
